Do you take insurance?
You'll need to check with your insurance company to find out if they'll reimburse for an out-of network provider for mental health counseling. Many PPO insurance plans will reimburse for a 45 minute session. If they do reimburse and you qualify, we will provide you with a monthly statement for you to submit to them if you would like to seek reimbursement. We require payment from you at the time of service. We do not take insurance as payment or bill insurance companies in order to protect your privacy and prevent other risks to you. If you'd like to know more about the pros and cons of using health insurance to pay for counseling, please ask.
Can I use my credit card?
Yes. We accept payment by credit card (Visa, Mastercard, Discover), debit card, or Health Savings Account (HSA) cards. We do not accept cash or checks.
When do you meet with clients?
I meet with clients weekdays from 8 am to 6 pm.
How long do the meetings last?
Meetings last for 25, 45 or 90 minutes.
How often would we meet?
We can meet weekly, every other week, once a month, or even just one time. This is a mutual decision that is part of our discussion.
Do we have to come to your office?
No, you don't have to come to my office. We can also do the meetings by phone.
What's counseling like with you?
It's like talking to a colleague in your living room. Only this colleague really knows what he's talking about and will give you advice and insight that works. Time together is not 'touchy-feely', talking things to death. Emphasis is placed on change, movement and techniques that work for most men. Read more about what it's like and how we're different from regular counseling >> Why Work With Me?
What kind of people do you work with?
I work with all kinds of individuals: business owners, executives, sales professionals, engineers, contractors, doctors, pilots, athletes, college students; guys who are 18 and 65; guys who've been married 36 years and guys dating. If you are a male, I will work with you. If you are a woman in a relationship with a guy, I will work with you. If you are a women struggling with anger, I would like to work with you.
Do you work with couples?
No. Partners are welcome to participate in individual sessions when it is deemed appropriate, but I do not do regular couples counseling.
How do women feel working with you?
Most women are very comfortable working with me. Many really appreciate my direct, solution focused, action oriented approach. As a result, I work with quite a few women.
How long will it take to see results?
Probably not very long. I have found that clients see improvement even after only one meeting.
